Haley Maka is a multimedia illustrator with a passion for storytelling. They currently reside in Providence, Rhode Island while pursuing their Bachelor of Fine Arts for Illustration at Rhode Island School of Design and will graduate in May 2026. 
In his personal work, he explores themes of queer identity along with trauma and grief. They hope to relate to others with their work by sharing intimate lived experiences. 
Their interest in visual narratives is pursued through their participation in the collaborative volunteer organization Fiction for Kids. In FFK, Maka works with other students from RISD and Brown University to create children's books from concept to completion.
Maka has had work exhibited in the RISD Museum's Gellman Gallery and has several years of experience with freelance commissioned painting, illustration, and graphic design.
