Fianna
Ten-word-sentence story completed for Spring 2024 Visual Strategies final project in the RISD Illustration program. Fianna explores a lush landscape reminiscent of the woods Maka grew up around in New England. This story reflects on their childhood perspective observing animals in nature. The deer represents a spiritual aspect of human's relationship to ephemerality. Fianna comes from the Scottish, Irish origin meaning a band of warriors with a notion of strength, yet is known as a feminine name and translates to deer in English.
